Officer James Harris runs over man, faces no charges

"Marlon Brown, 38, of Deland, Florida was killed on May 8 when a police officer ran him over in a patrol car and. Now his family has released the graphic video, hoping to receive justice" reports Huffington Post.

Autopsy reports indicate that Brown was not killed by impact but infact was pinned under the car and suffocated. Police continue to reiterate that Brown was a known felon. Despite this, the officer who killed Brown did not show a sign of hesitation. He did not press on his breaks or veer to the side to avoid killing Brown. Grand jury determined that there wasn't enough evidence to criminally prosecute James Harris, the officer driving the patrol car. He was however fired and a settlement has been awarded.

On May 31, the chief of police reviewed the video of the incident. Upon reviewing, he determined the "actions in the video did not meet our internal standards," said DeLand Police Sgt. Chris Estes, who said Harris was fired the same day.".* Ana Kasparian, Dave Rubin (The Rubin Report), and Ben Mankiewicz (What The Flick?! and TYT Sports) break it down on The Young Turks.

Unarmed Black Man shot dead while waving down North Carolina police for help

According to New York daily news, Jonathan Ferrell was shot dead by police as he was waving them down for help. Ferrell had just been in an accident and ran to a neighboring home for help. A woman, upon opening the door, became terrified assuming Ferrell was out to harm her. She slammed the door and called police. Ferrell who went back to the scene of the accident waved down the police for help. Police first tazed him, then shot him 10 times killing him. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Officer Randall Kerrick was the man that killed Ferrell. Dashcam shows Officer Kerrick pausing in between shots. As if to make sure he was dead. The Ferrells’ attorney, Chris Chestnut, says a dash cam video shows the young man posed no threat to officers. Officer Kerrick has since been charged with Voluntary Manslaughter. Who knew a black man could survive an accident only to be shot by the police who should have been helping him. Aren't police supposed to confirm if a man is armed before they can shoot him? I wonder. If a white man did the same thing would he have been killed? Rest in Peace Jonathan Ferrell and all the other black man killed because of racist assumptions and trigger happy police.

Florida police department caught in huge sex scandal; over 8 officers and 1 firefighter in hot water.

According to Floridatoday.com, the Lakeland Police Department in Florida is under a huge magnifying glass this month for having sexual encounters with a female civilian crime analyst both on and off duty. Sexual encounters took place in police cars, motels, parking lots, cemetaries, police and fire stations. Among the accused are police officers, a firefighter, and a "city worker". Seven officers have admitted to having sexual encounters with the woman and three other officers have denied the accusations and are unwilling to take a polygraph. Obvoiusly the department is embarrased and confidence in police is close to nonexistent. This department has had many issues with investigating crimes, routine traffic stops, and searches. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has assumed that the deparment "shortcomings" are connected with these sex scandals.

They are focused more on sex than doing their job.

25 year old female officer arrested for selling heroine among other charges.

Ashley Roane, a 25-year-old patrol officer in the Southwestern District of Baltimore, Maryland, agreed to access law enforcement databases listing informants and other sensitive information for the undercover drug dealer, and provided Social Security numbers to him as part of a scheme to obtain false tax refunds, according to prosecutors. Roane faces a a possible minimum of 17 years in federal prison. This is apart of a new effort to clean out corrupt cops. This is unfortunate as they are creating crooks then punishing them. They need to sift out officers who are already committing crimes. But hey, somebody has to take the blame for it. Keep em' coming!
